In line with the Year of Sustainability declared by President His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the upcoming Conference of Parties (COP28) Climate Summit set to be held in the UAE this year, our aim is to enhance the readiness of government leaders around some of the most imperative global trends in sustainability and climate change, and raise awareness of national initiatives that preserve the environment and promote a green economy.

The executive briefing for UAE government leaders in the UAE sheds light on the UAE’s presidency of COP28 with His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the appointed President of COP28 to discuss “Why Cop 28?” and the role of governments and Her Excellency Mariam Al-Muhairi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, who will address the UAE's efforts in climate action and the specific national contributions in this field, as well as the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategic initiative. Additionally H.E. Ambassador Majid Al Suwaidi, Director-General and Special Representative of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) joins us to discuss the UAE's preparations for hosting the conference later this year, in addition to the priorities set on the UAE's agenda as it presides the conference.
