Green Capabilities Global Alliance for Government

Green Capabilities Global Alliance for Government
The Green Capabilities Global Alliance for Government is a global platform aimed at closing the green skills gap in governments worldwide. The alliance fosters collaboration among governments, exchanges best practices and integrates climate and environmental skills into government training programs. Launched in partnership between the UAE government, represented by the Government Development and the Future Office, and Apolitical Company at COP 28, the alliance focuses on equipping 200 million government employees with the green skills necessary for environmental sustainability and climate change adaptation.
Objectives:
- Build resilient governments worldwide by integrating climate and environmental skills into government education programs.
- Encourage governments to lead sustainability efforts and address climate change, while involving non-governmental organizations in enhancing climate and environmental training.
- Unite global efforts to transform government employees into climate action partners, supporting the fight against climate change.
- Strengthen the green skills capacities of government employees to design effective policies, programs and initiatives for climate neutrality.
- Expand green skills among government employees globally and promote the sharing of best practices and innovative learning methods.
The alliance aims to create a worldwide network of green-skilled government workers who are prepared to address the challenges posed by climate change and foster sustainable development across all sectors.
